G&DAA information

Gillingham and District Angling Association is based in North Dorset and has a good selection of lakes to fish together with over seven miles of upper River Stour. With over three hundred members it is one of the larger fishing associations in the West Country. The association match scene is very strong running matches through out the year for its members, we also have a very good Junior section with coaching and dedicated matches for them. For our dedicated carp anglers and specimen hunters we have carp up to around 30lb and pike to mid 20lb to fish for.

Please note that all members over 13 years of age require an Environment Agency Rod License to fish any of our waters. This can be obtained from GOV.UK

  • You can get a fine of up to £2,500 if you’re fishing and cannot show a valid rod fishing licence when asked.

Please download the G&DAA handbook for all the association rules and information.

Message from Chairman Pete Edwards

Attention Carp anglers:

Several discarded/lost lengths of terminal tackle have been found around the small lake at Lodden, unfortunately these have had barbed hooks attached. Barbed hooks are not permitted at Lodden lakes. If you ignore this rule, you risk the sanction of being banned. You have been warned. Also, we allow one non angling guest to accompany you while you fish, this rule does not mean that you can have multiple visitors to your peg during your session, as this is annoying to other anglers. There will be increased bailiff visits to ensure that barbed hooks are not being used and anglers are respecting the rules of Lodden lakes.
